We are in Week 5! Time seems to go by so slowly.... We can't wait for our first ultrasound! We have to wait till we are Week 7 for our next appointment.
Nope, no nausea or vomiting (yet?). Things have not been difficult. Symptoms up to now include breast changes (bigger and darker areola), fatigued and diarrhoea. Pretty surprised at having diarrhoea. I went to the toilet 4 times yesterday having diarrhoea. I was beginning to worry until I googled and read that it is also a pregnancy symptom, just not as common as the other symptoms. Funny also that I don't think I'm urinating more often as compared to before.
This blog accounts for my daily experiences and happenings together with my husband and the coming little one staying in Viet Nam.

First beta HCG at 13DPT
Despite having many positive sticks, it's a relieve to get a blood test confirmation.
We were at the hospital early yesterday. The nurse took my blood and we waited. We waited and waited as time seems soo long to pass.. After 2.5 hours, the nurse finally called us in and handed us a slip for us to make payment for consultation. After paying at the counter, we waited again.
A short while later, our names were called and the doctor told us we were pregnant. We knew we were pregnant from the many positive sticks at home but it was good to hear a confirmation from the doctor and the blood test results. Our beta Hcg was at 197 on 13 DPT. It was within normal range.
No ultrasound was done. I was asked to continue to take Progynova, folic acid, prenatal vitamin and crinone gel. We were asked to come back after 3 weeks for ultrasound.
I'm currently at week 4 of my first pregnancy!
We truely thank God for his provisions, protection and his blessings!

More positive sticks!
Me and hubby can be 'kia-sus' at times.
Hubby peed on a stick himself to make sure that the sticks were reliable. I thought to myself, could the test kits be too cheap to be true?? We went out to the pharmacy to get more of other brands. At the pharmacy, we realised that the brand we've been using is supposedly the best ones there. Anyhow, we grabbed all the other brands available, which were priced between VND5.000 -8.500 (that's like USD0.25 - 0.40) wth!
We've been quite satisfied after getting many sticks peed on. Hubby would stare at the sticks. We can't wait to go to the hospital for blood test. 2 more days!

My first BFP on 9DPT!
Last night, I had to replenished my home pregnancy test kits. We went out for dinner and stopped by the pharmacy. I got 10 pregnancy test kits. I tested one when we got home but it came out BFN.
This morning, the first thing I did was to test again and wahlah... a big smile when I saw the faint line! Hubby was looking at it trying to compare the lines. We were staring at it for a while and started laughing! We are very thankful to God our Father.
Hoping for the best! And we know God doesn't fail us. Hope to see a darker line later!
Can you see the faint line?? |

7DPT BFN!
On 7DPT, my curiousity increased, hoping that I'll get a BFP soon, I tested once in the morning and another in the evening. Both came out with a BFN. Consoled myself by reading more articles and blogs of personal experiences of other women.
Nancy looked at the data for 20 available sucessful 3dt FET cycles and here's the stats she collected.
~ 20% got a BFP by 7dpt
~ 10% got a BFP at 8dpt
~ 10% got a BFP at 9dpt
~ 40% got a BFP at 10dpt
~ 15% got a BFP at 12dpt
~ 5% got a BFP at 14dpt
So if I am somehow pregnant from this cycle, I only had a 20% chance of it showing by today. A full 80% of BFPs showed after 7dpt!
We went to cell group last night at my neighbour's house. This lovely couple have just started wanting to try to conceive and she is not pregnant 5 weeks! I was really happy for them but at the same time felt uneasy with myself thinking what if i get a BFN at the end...
